The Biggest Rivalry in the IPL- Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings (Mr. Mogli Special)

"The IPL is India's most prominent celebration, and it gets better when the two brightest sides have a faceoff. When Mumbai Indians play the Chennai Super Kings, it's regarded as the 'El Classico' of India. I don't get it why people have to compare it to a football rivalry. Half of India knows nothing about El Classico. I mean people should call it 'Maha Mukabala, Maha Yudh' or something Indian. Common give it a better name!"  - Mr. Mogli

Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians

The Indian Premier League is the biggest cricket league in the world. Today we saw the mega match of the season between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK); the biggest rivalry in the IPL's history.

In the 12th game of the tournament, the Thala gang outsmarted every move planned by the Hitman. Firstly wickets fell early for the Indians and this time Tilak Sharma failed too while facing the CSK all-rounder Ravinder Jadeja.

Jadeja bowled four overs and took three major wickets of Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green, and Tilak Sharma. His supreme reflexes came to work in the eighth over when he bowls one and full wide off the stumps to Green.

The Australian batter smashes the ball toward the bowler who ducks but somehow takes the catch. Respect to Sir Jadeja!

Captain Cool's review was on point as it helped dismiss Surya Kumar Yadav (SKY) and now the fans are suggesting renaming 'DRS' as the 'Dhoni Review System'.

In the IPL's El Classico, there was nothing extra-ordinary about the MI's performance. They must be missing the Pandya brothers and the West Indies star all-rounder Kieron Pollard.

Pollard is currently coaching his former IPL team and couldn't be more disappointed after seeing them struggling this season.

However, the CSK easily chased the target in 18.1 overs and all credit goes to Ajinkya Rahane. Jinks scored a massive 61 runs with the help of three sixes and seven fours in just 27 balls. He was impressive and made the entire chase look like a piece of cake.

Rahane's smashing performance has proved he is still in the game and we might see him soon wearing the 'Men In Blue' jersey for the international games.

Why are the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings the biggest rivals?

 M.S Dhoni and Rohit Sharma

The rivalry started in the first season of the IPL itself. Both the teams had the biggest icons in cricket history as their captains.

Mumbai Indians had the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar and Chennai Super Kings had the then captain of the Indian team Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD).

Currently, the 16th edition of IPL is going on, and put together both teams have won nine IPL titles. MI has won five and CSK four; the most by any IPL franchise.

Mumbai has faced Chennai four times in the finals and has defeated them thrice. Thus it can be said, it is one of the biggest rivalries in the league.

Both sides have met 37 times in total out of which MI has won 21 games and CSK has 16 wins to their name.

Do you think we will get to see CSK vs MI in the IPL 2023 final championship?
